Introduce yourself…

I'm Naïma, the designer of Glitter Power Club

Have you always been an illustrator, and if not, how did you get into the career you have now?

I studied visual communication in Paris. I was super interested in Fashion and illustration, and I started working in fashion brands for 10 years. I started my freelance career in 2018, developing my own style and point of view. It's a crazy and fun journey, full of adventures.

Where are you located and how does the city inspire you?

I live in Toulouse, south of France. It's a very sweet place, we call it La Ville Rose, the pink city, because of its pink/orange bricks. Life is slow and soft here. It gives me the right environment to create because I really need a bubble too be able to deliver my art.

What’s your creative process? What tools do you use to create your images?

I love to draw at first with traditional tool, painting, crayon, and a white piece of paper. In fact I draw first in my head then I start drawing. After that I'm using my computer, working on Photoshop and Illustrator. I like my artwork telling a story, creating emotions. I need to have fun with them to be sure they'll make people happy.

What are you mostly inspired by when creating work?

I'm mostly inspired by surrounding elements, everyday objects. I'm a big fan of vintage too, especially the 70's, it's a big inspo for me.

Do you WFH, or have a studio space?

I have a studio space, shared with video game people. I need to get out of my living place and be with other creative humans to be "at work". Otherwise I could live on my couch forever with a good book and a nice coffee and never work haha. My bank account wouldn't love that.

What do you listen to when you make work?

Sometimes music, sometimes Podcasts about society, love, true crimes.

What is your dream collab?

I'd love to make a collaboration with Bobo Choses.

What is your favourite design you have created for our collab?

As a french girl I'm really proud of my croissant.
